As soon as I saw that I should write about the most interesting thing I have done as a Local guide, I could not forget about my review in Maps of my trials and tribulations that I went through when I had gone to IKEA to buy some packing carton-boxes. You know, it is cheaper in IKEA deep down your heart 
. I got to know from a “good” friend who lives “nearby” IKEA that it is easier to travel there if I take a Metro nearby his home and then the destination is “two” bus stops away. Ladies and Gentlemen, you will learn in a minute why Google maps is very important and why it should be used to check the route before you travel to a place.
I blindly trusted the friend and after reaching the correct Metro station, I wanted to use Google Maps now to check the bus route. Unfortunately my metrotrain was delayed by 10-15 minutes so it was already 7:20 pm and IKEA closes by 8 PM! Sorry, German rules are not like other countries. Then my phone battery was down to 2 seconds of life! The plan was to visit the friend afterwards so I checked and memorised the route to his place with Maps. After inquiring with some bus drivers, I boarded the correct bus at 7;30 pm which I did not miss.
I thought if it were just “two” bus stops, I can reach in five minutes. After two stops, I wanted to get down but asked the bus driver if it is the stop. He said wait I would inform you. I waited for about 15 mins and after some 100 stops and it still didn’t come. So I asked him how many minutes more. He said around 8 pm. I was like what??? IKEA closes by 8 pm. I said to myself “Okay. Let me try my luck”. The bus driver was so nice he dropped me nearby the IKEA even though the end stop was a bit away.
Now, I ran to IKEA and found out the security doesn’t allow me further to enter. Shit. Then I took other way when they were not looking and found out, the entry was closed. Nochmal (once again) shit. I don’t want my perseverance to go in vain. I inquired some staff and they let me to go inside the self checkout counter. Long live self checkout! Then the humongous task is to find out where packing cartons are placed. I went around and around and around and reached the same place like in the Matrix where Kenu stuck inside the tunnel. It was 8:20 already and they were announcing please get out fast. I was like wait buddy.
Finally I understood how the things are arranged. They were arranged in shelves or leaned back against wall. It didn’t help me at all. Then i had to focus on the package cartons. I enquired a staff in the exit once again and she said something. I understood and I went there and looked around. I could find gifting cartons, origami coloured cartons except packaging cartons. I just saw one example of packing carton already assembled and made into a big packing carton. Unable to find it there, I did a big search once again. I couldn’t find it. I came back to the same end of the tunnel. Finally something struck me. No, the employees did not hit me for staying there rather I got my senses back.
Below the example package carton, there should be not-yet assembled carton. I ran there to find out if it is placed on any of it sides. Alas! It was sold out
My entire adventure became pointless. Nevertheless I thought now I know the way to IKEA. After partying with the friend and almost killing him, I reached my home. Now I found out the way suggested by the “good” friend is actually not the hypotenuse of the right angled triangle rather it was sum of the other two sides!!! I gave four stars because of such people like him nearby the metro, not IKEA, who would think without going to IKEA that it is two bus stops away 
And yes, I shared my misadventures in Maps. 
Hence, proved the importance of Google Maps!
