I reached level 7 today and was wondering how does one get a local guide pin. I’ve seen many getting them. Never gotten an email or notification about it.
There is no pattern, and there’s no fairness in who gets rewards. It is just a marketing gimmick. Reaching a certain level is not a criterion to get a physical pin.
You can learn more about perks by reading: Questions about Local Guides rewards. Also, Why be a local guide? is worth a read.
And finally, make sure Rewards is selected in your email settings found here. And update the location to show your current location.
Cheers

Congratulations on reaching Level 7! The Local Guides program is a community-driven initiative by Google Maps, where users contribute information and reviews about local places they visit. The program encourages users to share their experiences and knowledge to help others discover new places, provide accurate information, and improve the overall quality of Google Maps.
Regarding the Local Guides pin, there is no specific level requirement to receive one. The pin is typically sent out to Local Guides as a token of appreciation for their contributions, but it’s not guaranteed that every Local Guide will receive a physical pin.
However, it’s worth noting that Google has made changes to the Local Guides program over time, and the availability and distribution of physical pins may vary. In some cases, pins may be distributed based on specific criteria or as part of special promotions or events.
If you haven’t received any communication about a Local Guides pin, it’s possible that Google is not currently distributing them or that they have changed their approach. Nevertheless, your contributions to the Local Guides program are still valuable and appreciated by the community.
Remember that the primary goal of the Local Guides program is to provide helpful and accurate information to users of Google Maps. So, continue contributing and helping others discover great places, and your efforts will make a positive impact regardless of receiving a physical pin. @MortenCopenhagen thanks for your valuable comments you are always supportive.
