How do I find employment by Google and get noticed

I would like to get noticed by people who read and take the advice of my reviews, and hopefully get a job for Google as a popular reviewer with benefits and a good income.

Thank you for the chance and opportunity for my message to be recognized, as New Zealand Google doesn’t offer allot. I would like to start a bass or hub in New Zealand Rotorua as it is a tourist town, where it will be ideal for Google to expand. And to all people who use local guides that share their experiences here

@Charles101 If I’m understanding correctly, you want to do reviews as Local Guides, then get a job at Google and getting income from it? There’s actually no such thing, as Local Guides is a volunteer based program. Participation within the program should be because you enjoy contributing on Maps and helping others from doing it.

Well what a way to burst my bubble, in such a insulting manner. You could just say we do it for love while Google and businesses profit, from our advertising review’s.

@Charles101 Apologies if I sounded insulting, as I never had the intention to. You’re free to spin the logic your way, but keep in mind that participation in the Local Guides program is voluntary. If you don’t think it’s worth your time, or you no longer enjoy doing it, you can leave the program at any time.

Personally I do it because I rely on Google Maps almost every day during my daily routines, and I know many that do the same. There was one time I was looking up a restaurant, and noticed that they’re open. I went there (30 minutes drive) and the restaurant was closed. I checked the opening/closing hours and the information on Maps was incorrect, so I fixed it, hoping others that are relying the same info wouldn’t be mislead.

I wasn’t thinking from the perspective of Google’s or business’ profit when I made the contribution. I was only thinking about my wasted time driving (1 hour round trip) to the restaurant that I could’ve used doing other things, and also that others time won’t be wasted due to inaccurate information. In the end, we the community are the one benefiting the most from having accurate information on Maps.

Hello @Charles101 ,

Keep in mind, Local Guides is a voluntary program and many people participate in it because they want to be able to help others via the Google Maps platform. You can read more - Why be a Local Guide?.

If you would like to become an employee of Google, feel free to check out the Google Careers.

You can follow the answers that @ErmesT and @iyudhi provided. Just to let you know, I marked @iyudhi 's answer as a solution to your question. The purpose of this feature is to help Local Guides find answers when searching on the Connect. Please take a look at: How do I mark comments as solutions? article.

Just as a reminder, don’t forget when responding to others make sure to tag them (by writing @ before their names) in a post so they can receive notifications that you are communicating with them.

P.S.: I edited the title of your post to better fit the question you asked.

Hey, greetings from Spain!

Sorry I don’t know how to write to a moderator, but by commenting his post (sorry I know: nothing to do with the subject).

I would like somebody to unmark my first post as spam. Removing it from quarantine? I am a bit dissapointesd, and don’t know what to do.

In fact I don’t know if I’ll be able to read your response on this matter.

Thank you very much for your attention, and congratulation for your posts!
