As fans of House Boats, our family members (with few guests) planned for a one-day trip in a House boat, on 26th Dec, 2018. Honestly, we had a great day…

As usual, we entered the House boat by 11 AM. The crews greeted us with a welcome drink. We were a group of 16 people (which included four children). Four of our family members, gave us wonderful company, by singing (with Karaoke). We spent very little time in covering a few Churches, Monuments, Resorts, Tourist Interesting places, Local Souvenir Shops, Antique Shops, etc.; we were more busy in enjoying the songs (and in family chatting).

Close to 12 Noon, we had some light snacks and by 2 PM, we had an excellent, South Indian Vegetarian Meals. Afterwards, few of us were busy in photography, few in just enjoying the nature and few took rest for a while.

Evening we had some snacks and coffee at around 5 PM. Then, during golden hours (of photography), we all got busy with family photos. By 6 PM, we parked the boat and had dinner at around, 8PM; few people, left us after dinner and, few stayed overnight.

Morning, after breakfast, all left the boat, ending a great session, but leaving a lot of sweet memories.

Here are few photos of the House boat and environment - Can I expect your comments, please:

1. A two bedroom houseboat with an upper deck in the front.

6. A bath attached Bedroom (Typical)

8. The full view of a typical, 2 Bedroom House Boat (The front Lobby, the deck, 2 bedroom with windows, 2 Toilets with mini-windows, Kitchen with small exhaust fan window.); the shape of the front and back of the boat has a peculiar shape.

These house boats look pretty big and comfortable. In England they are not so huge, especially because they usually go around the narrow canals that cross it from North to South. I lived for a short spell of my experience there in Stoke-on-Trent and it was pretty common to spot them passing around.

Also thanks for your valuable reply, dear @Sorbe ; I too have some footings there (in London) & visit Canary Warf, some times - I have seen many of such boats, parked (& rarely moving).

Alleppey, this type of Boats are used only by Tourists; where as, other types of boats are used for locals for fishing, commutation, transportation, etc.

In the year 2012, June during my honeymoon we stayed in the boat house in Alleppey, it was unforgettable moment. The typical Kerala food and location are wonderful.
