The Bangoru waterfall is a beautiful waterfall in Bir, district Gunehar, Himachal Pradesh. You need to track more than 1.5 kms to view the waterfall and experience & enjoy this marvel. The trek is tough for a newbie like me. I did a lovely trip to Bir Billing with a friend. We stayed at the Nature Valley Resort. This is a beautiful camping site and is a woman owned business. The camps were very nice & sturdy. A nice small cafe, good food & a staff cum singer. The owner was so nice & welcoming. We talked & shared our life stories.
We had this trek on our visit list but were scared. So We hired a local guide to take us to the waterfall. The trek is moderately difficult atleast for beginners. Narrow, steep at some places. So it is better to take a guide. The guide will help you at tough places, terrains & more. It took us an hour to reach the waterfall. Scary but exciting. The guide held my hand, helped me pull up the rocks, told us interesting stories, took our photos & more.
Once you reach the waterfall you can’t help but be amazed at the beauty of nature & what unfolds. Greenery all around. It’s meditative. It’s calming. It’s peace.
High water fall, heavy flow and it started raining at the time of return. There are very small tuck shops run by local ladies at the waterfall selling momos, Maggi, tea, Siddu. Guide took Rs 500 for 2 people to and fro. The trek is enjoyable but one needs to be cautious and safe.
Better to go early morning when the weather is pleasant. Avoid trekking under the sun or if it’s raining. Return before 6pm to avoid any mishaps. There are wild animals too.
At such places you realise the true essence of life. Stop, reset, start !
