Hi there! There’s a problem that bothers me. The problem is related to google maps reviews and specifically to photos. Why do my reviews photos get deleted on the regular basis?

I checked your profile and noticed that you have added 19 photos and only 15 of these are currently public.
There is an ongoing issue related to photos not showing up under reviews. You can read about this issue here.
Often accounts with relatively few contributions and new accounts are under extra scrutiny for making fake contributions.
Regarding your public photos, I believe you might not be aware of the guideline related to redundant = similar photos. I suggest you delete one of your photos uploaded to https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZkzcAVLDRaDVKFBB9 as they are redundant.
If you are concerned about getting a lot of photo views you may want to use horizontal rather than portrait orientation as discussed here:

I don’t think there is any strict rule, @jacob_gabriel. I would says, if a second photo doesn’t provide an additional information, I’d call it redundant. But in many cases, it is obvious, while it is often a very subjective question and related to the object.
Personally, I prefer to post photos directly to the listing instead of attaching them to review. My reason is, to understand whether the text is rejected or one of the photos and which one exactly it was. However, that doesn’t resolve your question about “redundant”. The SPAM filter still might accept some redundant photos, but if the number increases, you may run into problems, because the filter not only checks each upload but also considers your history.
This also to related to the current glitch, mentioned by @MortenCopenhagen, that for some users, the photos do not show up at the review, but they are shown under “All”, “Recent” and “By You” when you click on the banner photo of the listing.
BTW, Google never deletes any pictures, they may be hidden to the public or don’t appear somewhere as result of a software problem, but you should always find them under “My Contributions”->“Photos”.

There are several methods to add photos. If you open a normal pin = a listing, you can then select Add photo/video. This is how you add a photo to a place/listing.
Redundant/similar photos are when you just change the zoom or angle a bit and upload both photos with pretty much the same content.
These two photos are clearly redundant in my opinion:
@jacob_gabriel there are multiple ways to upload photos to Google Maps:
- Attaching to a review while writing the review (apparently what you did)
- Clicking on business or point of interests and then “Add photos or videos”. This is, what i meant in my response.
- Adding an “update from customers”
- Attaching to a suggestion for edit (opening times … etc)
You can also share a photo directly from Google Photos/camera roll directly to Google Maps. A place vill be suggested or you can do a text search to find the correct place.
Thanks! I haven’t noticed i added this two similar photos. Typically i add my photos to reviews. Your advice is upload just reviews without photos attached to them but uploading them separately to a place “Photos”
I found as good practice to frequently scroll through my most recently added photos and reviews using my My Contributions, to discover those kind of cases.
In addition you can recognize wether reviews and/or photos are hidden by using two browser sessions in parallel scrolling concurrently: one being logged into Google, the other one open as anonymous (a.k.a. private) without logging in.
Doing so, for hundreds or thousands of photos is cumbersome or impossible, but I think, if regularly done for the last 20-30 added, is just a couple of minutes.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way on the smartphone, unless you have two phones.
It was @WilfriedB who recommended uploading photos directly to the listings and not attached to reviews, as this makes troubleshooting a lot simpler when a review is not going public. I support this strategy.

Hi! For some reasons I decided to delete some of my photos which could be visible only to me. I found my last photo I uploaded successfully and threw all the following stuff out but the results the same. Could you help me please? I have no idea how to get back on the track and fix the issue

After I deleted all those photos I mentioned before i posted a new one without even a review but it’s never shown up. It seems it’s a permanent issue
