Earlier today I posted a review for a very busy and tasty local spot that serves bún bò in a hot stone bowl – smoky, flavour, and super comforting! I made sure to include some nice photos of the food, the setup, and even the sides.
Now here’s the strange part: my review shows up, but the photos don’t. Other people only see my text, not the images I uploaded. I double-checked that they were uploaded correctly and followed all the usual steps.
Have you ever faced the same issue? Any tips on how to make the images appear for everyone?
I’d love to hear your experience or solution. After all, a picture is worth a thousand slurps, right?
Thanks in advance for any help – and if you’re in the area, you have to try this place. That stone bowl broth aroma is no joke.
Hi @D4rkLiDaNi
I just posted a review with photos, and everything seems to be OK on my side.
I wrote it from desktop with Windows 11 using Google Chrome as a browser.
Can you kindly share a link to your review, for us to check?
For the team to investigate it may be helpful to know the type of device you used, the operating system and, if you used a mobile, also the version of Google Maps App.
I am asking you to share the link to the reviews because, according to your profile, only 85 of your 405 reviews, and 16412 of your 17485 photos are visible, while the others have been made private by the Google Maps filter.
Understanding whether your review is actually publicly visible can help you figure out what to report to the team.
I know, @WilfriedB , but in some case, in the thread shared by you, the photos seems to be uploaded separately.
I believe it’s the same issue, but to be sure I wanted to ask @D4rkLiDaNi to provide the link of the review.
But I agree that something strange is happening. If I check my last review in incognito mode I can see the attached photos
Hi Ermes
Thank you for your check but I recheck at least three of my friends checked my review on their phones, and it only displays the text — the attached photos are missing.
I had reported this issue yesterday. I thought it was just my account. My review was posted with photos but later on the photos got uploaded separately.
Just to sum up to make sure that I understand the issue correctly:
You see your reviews without the attached photos when you look at your contributions while logged into your account and also when checking your profile in incognito mode/from another person’s device.
However, your photos are correctly uploaded and visible in the “Photos” section of your account - just not appearing under your reviews.
This is happening both in the mobile Maps app and on desktop.
I’ve noticed that most of the photos now appear under most of your reviews, but not all, and not under reviews from the past day or two. It’s possible that there’s a synchronization delay.
Please let me know if I understood this right so I can escalate it to the relevant team.
Yes, that’s correct – your summary matches exactly what I’ve been experiencing. Thank you for looking into this, and I appreciate you escalating it to the relevant team
@DeniGu
After I logged into my account I can see the photos attached to my recent reviews. However, these photos are not visible under the recent reviews from public view. This appears to all recently published reviews (published from around two days ago). And then I start to find such issue gradually plagues older reviews. Some of the old reviews starts to lose photos from public view. And I now also noticed that more and more old reviews are impacted.
I think for recent reviews this is a universal issue. That is, happening to any places on the Google Maps. We can see from the tons of reviews at the pages of Louvre and British Museum. There are many reviews published in the past one to two days. None of them shows photos attached.
I’m having the same issue—the last 2-3 days. So I’m glad it’s not just me, and it’s probably a global problem. I’m running on Windows 10 + Chrome, fully up to date.
