ConnectLIVE Singapore 2026 hosted by Google on July 30 and 31, 2026 brought together Local Guides from different countries and backgrounds in the same region. For me, the most valuable part of the experience was the opportunity to meet other Local Guides in person, exchange experiences, and build connections with people who share the same interest in contributing to Google Maps.

The day before the main ConnectLIVE Singapore 2026, some participants had the chance to meet and spend time together through casual side events. We grabbed coffee, walked around the park, contributed to Google Maps together, and simply enjoyed getting to know one another. These outdoor activities made it easy for everyone to connect and form friendships even before the official event began.

There was plenty of time to have fun together. On the last day, we played ping pong and enjoyed casual conversations. Those moments were actually some of the best opportunities to get to know each other.

Overall, ConnectLIVE SIN 2026 felt less like a formal conference and more like a gathering of a global community. Google Maps may have been what originally connected everyone, but the friendships, cultural exchange, and shared experiences were what made the event memorable.

Your beautiful photographs do an incredible job of capturing not just the highlights of the event, but also the vibrant energy, warmth, excitement, and camaraderie that made the gathering so special. Every photo seems to tell its own little story and brings back wonderful memories of those memorable days.

I completely agree with what you shared, while our common passion for Google Maps and the Local Guides community may be what initially brings us together, it is the conversations beyond the screen, cultural exchanges, spontaneous walks, shared meals, laughter, and countless fun moments that transform these connections into genuine and lasting friendships.

That is perhaps what makes ConnectLIVE so unique. Although it is officially an event, the experience often feels much more personal than a formal conference. It feels like a gathering of a global family, where people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds come together with a shared passion, yet leave with something much more valuable; new friendships, cherished memories, and a deeper appreciation for one another.

And yes, our connection goes back even before ConnectLIVE started. It was wonderful to meet in person with you and AK earlier as well, at the meet-up so beautifully hosted by @deepakjhic and @NareshDarji at Duxton Road, Singapore. That gathering itself was a lovely reminder of how the Local Guides community brings people together across borders and turns online connections into real-world friendships.

A huge kudos to the entire Google Team and @Kristen_NYC for putting together such a memorable, thoughtful, and seamless experience. The effort behind an event of this scale is tremendous, and it truly showed in the way everything came together so beautifully.

And a special thank you to you, @KhanhDinh, for taking the time to document the experience so thoughtfully, share these wonderful memories with the wider community, and make the effort to tag so many friends. Your recap does more than preserve moments; it helps all of us relive the joy, reconnect with those memories, and celebrate the wonderful community we are fortunate to be part of.
