Every Friday, Google Moderators highlight the best posts they found during the week to celebrate the amazing discoveries Local Guides like you are sharing on Connect. This week, a trip to London, an accessible board game, and more.
@KlaudiyaG : Food is a passion of mine. Not that I’m an amazing chef or anything, it’s just that I love eating it. A well-known saying among chefs is, “You eat with your eyes first.” So, I invite you all to a delicious eye feast. @ChanneLing 's post “3 Great Brunch Spots to Start A Day in San Francisco” is full of exquisite photos of incredible dishes which made my mouth water. I chose to highlight this great post not only because my favorite meal of the day is brunch, but also because of the way she described every restaurant. If one day I get the chance to visit San Francisco, USA, I’ll definitely stop at those brunch spots.
@RadieN : Since the Year of the Metal Rat is already here, I wanted to bring to your attention the wonderful celebration of the Lunar New Year in Parit Buntar, Malaysia. In his post, “CNY 2020 celebration in my City,” @OmerAli presents the most colorful aspects of the festival: the spectacular fireworks, bright lights, beautiful red lantern decorations, and mesmerizing drum performance. This post is part of the “#CNYInMyCity worldwide challenge” started by @MariaNgo . No matter if you celebrate the Lunar New Year or not, Omer’s post will definitely make you smile and feel the festive mood.
@Deskata : Many cultural products, like games, remain inaccessible to people with disabilities. One enlightening post stood out to me this week. Local Guide @Jesi introduced one inclusive board game in her post “Accessibility Uncovered : Inclusive Board Games - Checkers.” She wrote about an adapted version of the popular game of checkers which is played with round pieces on a special two-colored board. This version is very suitable for people with visual impairment who can enjoy an effortless game. This February, the team behind the #OneAccesibility initiative will talk about inclusive board games, so make sure to support them by following their content.
