Elote: a fundamental ingredient for Mexican cuisine.

Elote is a vegetable derived from corn, in Mexico there are many ways to eat it, in esquite, with salt and lemon or as seen in the image, roasted. It is very common to see this type of stall in the afternoons or at night in popular colonies where they sell steamed or charcoal-roasted corn, the latter have to be a special type of corn where its grain is larger, to that at the time of roasting it does not burn, without a doubt they are a delicacy that they must one day try.

Thank you for sharing this unique dish. The first time I tried Elotes is right here in Tokyo at a place called Tacoyote => https://goo.gl/maps/dtvR52xe28xGzfft7

Hello @luis_rich ,

By the way, I’ve noticed that your post has a Spanish language label. Please note that I’ve removed it as your post is written in English.

To learn more about those labels I recommend you to take a look at the following article How do I find posts in my preferred language?.

Look how interesting, I see that apparently it is a type of Mexican restaurant, by its name that is called “Tacoyo”. The way they prepare the corn there is very similar to Mexico since it has mayonnaise, cheese and chili powder, it will be necessary to see if the flavor is the same. Greetings.
