Eco-friendly Souvenir Shop - International Plant Appreciation Day Challenge 🪴 with Handmade Heritage Series

Hy Local Guides,

As part of @TravellerG’s International Plant Appreciation Day Challenge with @Globe_trotter_Ish’s Handmade Heritage Series and Help others choose sustainability with Google Maps, I am glad to discover this Unique Eco friendly Souvenir Shop which also has a garden centre or nursery as part of the shop.

This post will be under Support Local Eco-Friendly Businesses series.

Culture Shoppe, situated at Kowdiar is a Souvenir Shop which showcases handmade products like lamps, mirrors, clothes, toys etc.. They mainly focus on showcasing diverse cultural importance through products from across India. They not only give spaces for Local small businesses but also give space to other small businesses across India to sell their products.

One of eco friendly products they showcased which I liked is Green Toys. It is made by Local Small Businesses and by Local Artisans using Wood and Natural colours for the safety of Children.

Other noticeable handmade products are : Handmade Bangles and Pouches from jute.

They also have a Garden Centre in the entrance which showcases both plants with ceramic ones.

M R Hair, owner of Culture Shoppe is also doing an interesting project on planting trees under the Miyawaki Method as part of Afforestation. If you search “Miyawaki Forest in Kerala” in the search bar of Google Maps, every result will have something to do with his project, whether helping with saplings or doing it as a project.

How I helped as a Local Guide?

  • Corrected the Category into as Souvenir Store.
  • Tell them about Gender Neutral bathroom features in Google Maps and how to enable it (as they provide it).

I thank @TravellerG and @Globe_trotter_Ish for having a wonderful challenge and series which I collaborated on. Share such unique handmade stores which have a garden centre or nursery along it.
