For a long time, I was looking for a quiet and natural environment in the nearest distance. Finally, a few friends and I decided that there is a location called Mayadwip in Kalapahariya island and we should go there. Let’s go out on a day long trip.
It is an island union which is under the Araihajar police station. We left from Anandabazar Ghat by trawler at 8:30 am. After about 1 hour of travel, we reached there by sitting on the roof of the trawler and watching the fishermen fishing, the rural life on the river bank, and the joy of small children. We got off the trawler, had breakfast at the Radhanogor bazar market, did some shopping and then set off on a bicycle for Mayadeep.
It is the harvest season for the people of this area, so almost everyone is busy in the fields and at home. A lot of corn is cultivated here. This year there has been a great harvest. After cycling through the locality and through corn fields and almond fields for half an hour, we reached Mayadwip. This place is an open garden with several large trees. A river flows next to it.
We sat down on a flat area and started preparing the food. I am quite good at cutting, so most of the responsibility of this work fell on me. In the meantime, tea was made. After drinking tea, one of my teammate started cooking. As soon as we finished cooking, a heavy rain came. Since there was turf on top, we did not face any problems. The food menu was chicken tawa masala, curd salad, and paratha.
After lunch, we took a bath and swam in the river. We spent a very comfortable time swinging on the hammock in the cool afternoon breeze. I bought 12 pieces of corn from farmer for just 100 tk(bdt). Before evening, the barging of the foxes increased and we also left for home as usual. On the way back, however, we took a different route, via Khagkanda Ghat and Bardi Bazar, back to Sonargaon. We spent a day that will be remembered for a long time.

Vehicle/motorable road: No connecting road, but you can carrying motorcycle or bicycle by trawler. Reserve trawler i recommend most from anywhere of the country you can easily go there.
