Thank you for this fantastic article @brittym . This is really such a great concept because most people don’t like to blow their own horn, but through you we are learning so many incredible things about local guides. @ErmesT is such a worthy recipient. His ideas are engaging and they build a sense of community. I appreciate him in particular because he was the first moderator to respond to one of my posts. I felt very chuffed when he did and it helped me to feel like I was really starting to become part of the LGs connect community. So, his impact is both on a micro and macro scale. Well done @ErmesT

Aww @ErmesT Congrats! Well deserved recognition to your hard work and commitment with accessibility and the environment. I’ll stay with this phrase of yours: the world is beautiful …

Thank you @AlexandreCampbell , @CaroGuiniazu , I am learning from you too. This is simply one of the reason of Local Guides Connect. If we use the community in the appropriate way, we can learn from each other.

@CaroGuiniazu , @lynneannec , Batman and Superman don’t need to be worried but, if they want, they con join Local Guides. We have a Local Heroes team here, you know.

We don’t have just two super heroes, we have millions

Let me introduce one of them

Thank you @GaganMishra , @SilvyC

Hope you will join #LocalGuidesCleanTheWorld and Waste Report #onGoogleMaps

Together we can do a lot

Of course, I didn’t all this alone. I always need to thank @DavidTito , the master of the worldwide “Mymaps of plastic pollution”, @KashifMisidia , @br14n , @RiverDefender , @Julien44 , @manulele81 , just to mention a few.

Without forgetting @AntonellaGr (we work together on this everyday)

Thank you to @TorM for your kind words. Well, you know me very well, and you may tell the beginning of our friendship, related to another story: the earthquake

@Cecilita , I am not the number 1, please check my ID. I am the number 46754.

The actual lowest active ID @AnnaDickson (6) and @TraciC , you will probably meet both of them. They are the real legends of the community.

But yes, I am very proud to be one of the members, and I am very proud for the choice they made when they invited me to be a Connect moderator, so I try not to delude them.

As you are in Buenos Aires, why to wait for the Clean The Word - Connect Live 2019 edition - that will be, as usual, hosted by @KarenVChin ?

It is a long time that we talk about a Clean The World in la Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur. Maybe the right time is arrived

Grazie @LuigiZ

I have been so happy (and so fortunate) to meet you in Umbria. We spent a wonderful moment together, and more will come.

I love to be the first moderator to respond, @JustineE but I want to correct you. You said " it helped me to feel like I was really starting to become part of the LGs connect community". You were part of the community from your very first post, related to editing photos. Your first step in the community was to search a way for an improvement of Local Guides Contributions. What a better way to start?

Hi @ErmesT ! You made me laugh! You are the number one for me then…

You know that it is not so easy to develop an antivity to clean the city in Buenos Aires? I found out that we need to get some permisions from the Goverment to do that. Two weeks ago, casually I met a goverment employee and he is trying to help us with that. I hope we can have news in the following weeks.

If I can finally get the permissions, I will contact you so you can guide me or give me some advice to arrange the meet up.

Of course I know @CeciliaRatto , it is the same here.

What we do is to try to take advantage of this, involving the park administration. A lot of parks promote the volunteer activities.

Personally I had to fill a lot of papers. After that, we had the support of the waste company and the “civil protection group”, and we had TVs following us

True @ErmesT . Communication runs in two directions-at least effective communication should :joy::rofl:. At that point in time I didn’t know any other LGs and I had no idea what to write about that might interest other people. So, while you are correct in what you say, you definitely did impact my experience in a positive way.
