I checked your Google Maps profile and noticed several places where you have posted selfies and group photos.
When you plan to travel to a place and check photos of the place on Google Maps before going there, do you think such selfies of other people will be helpful to you in knowing more about the place?
Please do not share photos on Google Maps that are not of any use to other users.
Hi @Aladeco11 , “Welcome to Connect! If this is your first visit, you’ve come to the right place. This post will serve as a guide for everything you need to know about contributing content and engaging with the Local Guides community on Connect”. This is the first of the information that you will find in “Your guide to Connect” , the introductory Guide of the community. In there you will find all the necessary information to know how to better contribute in here.
When Google hosts an event like Connect Live, the event is normally announced here in the Highlights section of Connect, and an information is also sent via email to all the Local Guides. The announcement is normally made early on spring (March), because they need co consider to give us a proper time to prepare the application, plus a time to select the best applications, plus a time for organizing Travels and Logistics, and of course for the selected Local Guides to obtain a Visa. All these steps take quite a long time, that’s why an event hosted in October/November is normally announced in March. Since we are already in the second half of June, I am quite confident that we will not have any worldwide event (like Connect Live) this year, for the simple reason that it’s too late.
Regarding the note by @TusharSuradkar , I would like to remind you that one of the one of the requirement to be invited is “High-quality, well-rounded, and consistent contributions on Google Maps over the past 12 months”, as you can read from Save the date for Connect Live 2020 . Your impressive amount of selfies is totally useless as a contribution in Google Maps. Do you know that the submission period for participation in an event is also when many Local Guides are banned from the program? This obviously happens precisely because all the applicants’ profiles are checked to verify that the contributions are of quality.
My advice is to eliminate all contributions that violate the rules as soon as possible. Even though there probably won’t be any events this year, it’s good to be ready.
