Confeitaria 31 de Janeiro - Goa’s oldest, woman-led, family-run bakery

This post is in response to @Globe_trotter_Ish Let’s empower Women-Owned Businesses on Google Maps . Confeitaria 31 de Janeiro in Panjim, Goa, is a woman-led, family-run bakery today.

It was established in 1930, making it one of the oldest bakeries in the state. Featuring vintage decor and a homely atmosphere, this bakery retains an old-world charm.

Recalls colonial-era Goa with its nostalgic ambience. It is known for its traditional Portuguese and Goan baked goods.

Currently, Gletta Mascarhenas runs this family business. She is an IHM graduate.

Among the most popular items are bebinca, dodol, and various types of bread.
