Jaja eres como un diamante con muchas facetas una mas linda que la otra @Marichams , evidentemente la danza también es una de ellas en sus variadas expresiones tango, capoeira, y supongo que otras a esta altura del partido.

But unfortunately in India we not have this kind of culture so this celebration is totally new for me but as i can see the beautiful pictures it’ll be amazing.

Wow! That was brilliant. Everybody was really well-dressed for the festival, I really liked it. I’m very glad that you had this experience and I hope you liked it. =) I was a capoeirista for a long time in my childhood, my father used to be a master back in the days.

Capoeira is something I miss and will probably have back at some point in my life, I guess that having a mestre as a father made it sort of like breathing for you! How coo @FelipePK l!!!
Yes, we also had the food, I felt in love madly truly and deeply with the “brigadeiro” to the point that probably ate half of the ones available at the party, hahaha. I also miss and loved the “pao de queijo” because wow I mean… WOW!!! What is not to be loved about it!?
About the experience shown in my photos: the clothes were made by the embassy’s people and it was soooo much fun, that I would definitely do it again if I had the chance.

Wow hehe, I know very well this addiction for brigadeiro hehehe. I personally like the other one called Beijinho (white/yellowish). There is a particular state in Brazil where they are very famous for the Pão de Queijo, Minas Gerais. They have the best ones so far, you one day you have the chance to try it you will remember my words hehe. =)
Oh that’s super nice that the embassy promoted this festival, where I’m living now only the independence day is kind of celebrated. =/
And yeah, I’m kind of very skilled in a few things due to my father, he was a very good master and a great coach. =)

Mas que artigo tão interessante @FelipePK ! Aqui em Portugal temos os Santos Populares nesta altura do ano, com marchas, fogueiras e muita festa. Está tudo relacionado com o solstício de verão que acontece nesta altura do ano.

Espero que você tenha gostado do post, esse festival é muito popular no Brasil e pelo que você falou eu vejo as semelhanças nas celebrações dos Santos populares. (Hoje é dia de São João). Como aqui na Europa é verão não acho que você se vestem tipicamente para comemorar, estou certo?

Olá @FelipePK . Só as pessoas que participam nas marchas, que são um género de desfile de vários bairros das cidades (um género de competição com danças e música) é que se vestem com trajes diferentes. O São João é comemorado nas cidades em que é o Santo Padroeiro. Depois temos o Santo António e o São Pedro que também são Santos Populares noutras cidades. As comemorações são a 13 (Santo António), 24 (são João) e 29 de junho (são Pedro).

Que interessante. As datas das celebrações dos Santos são as mesma (acredito que em quase todo o cristianismo). Mas esses santos são mega celebrados nesse mês. Nós até falamos que nesse período do ano os Santos (felizmente ou não) não tem sossego. ^^
Santo António (casamenteiro) às pessoas fazem muitas simpatias para arrumar namorados, maridos, casamentos e coisas assim.
São Pedro geralmente ajuda com as chuvas, principalmente no Nordeste do país onde o período de estiagem é grande e no Sul/Sudeste para dar uma trégua nela. =)
São João acaba sendo o mais generalizado (talvez por ser o mais celebrado) com vários tipos de pedidos como prosperidade, amor, proteção, etc.
Vocês também fazem simpatias ou coisas do tipo para os santos?

Esse final de semana eu lembrei de vocês. Fizemos uma festinha de aniversário para o pai de uma amiga que veio nos visitar ao estilo Festa Junina, com direito a decoração, roupas típicas, algumas comidas e até dançamos quadrilha.
