I am trying to add images for the City of Wayne, Michigan but ‘Add Photos’ isn’t there anymore. The page is also showing Romulus, Michigan below. How can this be corrected?
Hi @AlfredBrock
As a Local Guide you cannot add photos, videos or reviews to areas such as cities, towns, regions, states or countries and this is indicated by the fact that there is no Write a review or Add a photo options for it. Doing so would be a violation of the Maps User Contributed Content Policy! You can only add photos, videos and reviews to Places of Interest (POIs) within a town, city or village etc.
Hi @AlfredBrock
There are certain restriction now for adding images directly to a city, town or a village. As I can see from the address above, it is treating it as a city not a singular address. I believe there must be an error during the mapping of this place. Because you can see a large area marked out by red outlining out the address you just searched, normally a single address (or POI-Point of Interest) is marked by a pin or Google location marker. So in short, you won’t be able to add photos to this location “Wayne, MI 48184” unless it is a POI, for example restaurant or hotel or an apartment.
I hope that helps

Hi @JonasKL and @AlfredBrock
Google put in place a computer algorithm to select some of the best photos from places inside a city to be displayed on cities pages on Google Maps.
So it is not a mistake when there is no Add photos link or icon on cities.
If you are confused about areas and items on the maps not accepting edits and photos, please enjoy this overview Shapes and Places - Guidance on where to add edits and photos including both flat and photospheres by PaulPavlinovich.

When you see individual photos posted to GPS coordinats and not pins this is a left over thing from earlier days when it was possible and to add photos outside of Points of interest.
