Challenge: “Project Announcement | Local Guides Community Initiative”
Introduction: A cleaner city begins with us!
A clean city is not just the responsibility of municipal authorities. It is a shared responsibility of every citizen who lives, works, travels, or does business there.
As Local Guides, we explore our cities, discover hidden places, review local businesses, share photographs, and help people make better decisions through Google Maps. But have we ever thought about using our community power to make our cities cleaner?
Imagine hundreds of Local Guides working together to identify littering hotspots, educate residents, document waste-management problems, promote responsible tourism, and encourage local authorities to take action.
This is the idea behind our proposed community initiative: “How Local Guides Clean the City”
Use hashtag while you post your threads - #cleanyourcityproject
The project aims to transform Local Guides from digital contributors into active community ambassadors for cleanliness, environmental awareness, and responsible civic participation.
Our mission is simple:
Explore. Identify. Educate. Document. Report. Act. Repeat.
The goal is not just to clean a street for one day. It is to encourage long-term behavioural change and build a culture where people stop littering and take responsibility for their surroundings.
How Local Guides can clean their city
Local Guides can contribute in several practical ways. Not every participant needs to perform physical cleaning. People can contribute according to their abilities and interests. CLICK HERE TO KNOW MORE
