Celebrating Earth Day-2025 with a Small Contributions

20250426_191907

This post is part of a challenge initiated by @ErmesT month-long challenge.

This Earth Day, I decided to take a hands-on approach to show love and respect for our planet. I spent time cleaning a section of the Kirtankhola river bank, where I found various types of waste like polythene, torn shoes, and discarded materials harming the environment.

So, I took an extra step to get green points by adding a waste management (review) place on Google Maps. I also added local shops (review) that buy old plastic, iron, and paper helping bridge the gap between waste and recycling.

I’m not claiming that my small contribution will change the world overnight. But I believe that if each of us contributes in small ways, together we can make a huge impact.

My main goal is simple to inspire others to take similar initiatives, no matter how small they may seem. Whether it’s a riverbank, a roadside, or a neighborhood street, every action counts.
Let’s use our role as Local Guides to make positive changes visible on Google Maps and to encourage our communities to care for the planet.

I didn’t do anything special for the day, but reading all these articles on Connect has certainly made me more conscious of the problem. Everything you’ve shown in those pictures from your country, is also quite common in my country. Let us all do our part in making it a little bit better each day.
