Bodhgaya where Mahatma Buddha attained enlightenment is famous for spiritual tourism in the World. Mahatma Buddha attained enlightenment under the tree located in the Mahabodhi temple of Bodhgaya. Japanese Temple, Chinese Temple, Tibetan Temples, and some other temples are also places of interest in Bodhgaya. Jayaprakash Garden ( Google Maps link of the Jai Prakash Udhyaan ) is also an attraction of Bodhgaya where there is a Butterfly Rearing Center. Butterfly release park is also inside the Jayaprakash Garden, where after paying ₹ 250 one can release a butterfly. My review of this Park is here. The sources said that Buddhists believe in releasing a newly born butterfly or any animal after visiting Mahabodhi Temple. So the facility has been provided here to give them an opportunity to release a newly born butterfly. This is not only a source of income but also protects the environment. Before the release of the butterfly, they explain the entire process from egg to butterfly i.e. egg, caterpillar, pupa, and adult, in real form. It takes 5 to 10 minutes to explain and show the whole process. The information about different types of butterflies and their associated plants has been shown here. Plants related to butterflies are also planted in the park.
A Plant associated with the butterfly
If you are in Bodhgaya you must visit this park even if you are not interested in releasing a butterfly because the conservation of butterflies information provided here is very important. Here you will get information about the caterpillars of butterflies, Usually, we think of these caterpillars as harmful insects in our garden and we throw them away from the plants of our house so that the plant does not get spoiled. in fact, they later become butterflies. Caterpillars of different butterflies are shown in the picture(Maps link of photograph). Leaves are the food of these caterpillars. Their food does not harm the plant. Because these caterpillar doesn’t eat flowers. Protecting the caterpillars will help in environmental protection.Map’s photo of garden showing “Be gentle with the plants, they are food resources of butterflies”
