Betaab Valley was previously known as Hagan Valley or Hagoon, but was subsequently renamed and became immensely renowned following the Bollywood film Betaab, which was shot here. This lovely valley is about 15 kilometers from Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. This is another popular tourist destination due to its beautiful grasslands, mountains, and dense vegetation, which provides beautiful settings for sightseeing and is a photographer’s dream. Surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks, its scenery is filled with trees such as chinar, rosewood, pine, willows, and poplars, and the Lidder River, with its bluish/green waters, adds to its attractiveness.
Some of the most popular activities for tourists in this valley include sightseeing, trekking, scenic photography, and camping. Betaab Valley is roughly 7 kilometers from Pahalgam and will take approximately 15 minutes to reach. To explore Betaab Valley, tourists must pay an admission charge of 100 INR per person.
Betaab Valley is also a popular camping spot for travelers since it acts as a base camp for trekking and further mountain exploration. The crystal clear and cool water of the lidder river stream gushing down from the icy slopes is exquisite to watch, and I noticed locals drinking it as well.
