Si bien entiendo que el programa de Local Guides es completamente voluntario y la mayoría de nosotros lo hacemos por la simple idea de ayudar a la comunidad a encontrar más y mejores lugares. Sin embargo¿No creen que sería bueno que se recompensara con algunos beneficios adicionales a los niveles más altos? (7, 8, 9 y 10).
Realmente cuesta muchísimo llegar a dichos niveles (a fuerza de horas y horas de escribir reseñas, levantar fotos, explorar el mapa, buscando nuevos lugares y rutas).
Quizás sería una buena motivación recibir algunos beneficios adicionales, además de los puntos y las invitaciones a eventos ( ejemplo: descuentos en Google One, que vendrían genial para cargar todas las fotos y videos que uno va sacando al momento de viajar, en **Youtube Premium/**Music o similares).
Obviamente a Google le conviene que siga siendo gratis y completamente voluntario jeje, pero quienes creamos esta comunidad somos nosotros los usuarios. Si solicitamos estos beneficios, seguramente Google estara feliz de brindarárnos algunos, y debido al tiempo que toma llegar a estos niveles más altos, dudo que se abuse de dichos beneficios por usuarios que no les interese el programa, ya que simplemente, no valdría la pena por un pequeño descuento.
Inclusive mucha mas gente se vería interesada en participar en Local Guides!
Entiendo que en una época se daban estos beneficios, pero hace mucho no sucede ¿Qué opinan?
Personalmente no me molestaria recibir un descuento en Youtube music para escuchar musica mientras exploro nuevos lugares o un espacio adicional en Google One para guardar los momentos inolvidables de nuestros viajes.

As you have rightly mentioned that the Local guides program is a completely voluntary program and I think we should just leave it at that. Maybe it’s even better so that we get the real volunteers to contribute quality to the maps. If it was to be paid or has some other material benefits perhaps we will have everyone coming in for the sake of the money.
Being a level 9 local guide, I know it costs alot to get the data and transport around etc. Nevertheless I will suggest that you don’t spend more than you can afford at any given time. Just contribute as much as you can at your own time and expense. No rush and no deadlines to be met.
The rewards we are getting is helping others make informed decisions about places and things. That’s enough reward I think. We also learn so much from contributing to these POIs which is also a benefit of being a local guide.At the end of the day we also benefit directly from using Google Maps on our trips ans travels everyday.Although you are new here on connect,nevertheless we make friends here and catch fun as a result of being local guides. Maybe those are all good enough benefits of local guides. Please make the best use of them.
Totalmente a favor. Vendría muy bien algún gadget de regalo, así como unos audífonos o una bocina inteligente, o bien, ser contratados con equipo especial (cámaras 360) y pago viáticos para viajar por el mundo, explorarlo, fotografiarlo y Google aprovechar nuestra experiencia
La verdad es que, efectivamente sería de justicia que a los niveles altos les pagarán o recompensarán con algo porque el tiempo que dedicamos a subir fotos, reseñas, responder preguntas y wuien luces y gana es solo Google. Deberían reconsiderarlo y así más gente se animaria a contribuir.
Estaría bueno que premien a los niveles más altos, ya sea que lo hagamos voluntarios, no viene mal un incentivo, igual lo seguiré haciendo porque me gusta y lo hago con mucho amor.
Personally I find there is too much spam and fake content on Google Maps. Imagine if more people got motivated to make contributions just to get cheaper access to YouTube Music and Google One. I honestly fear the amount of fake contributions will increase by a lot.
I speculate this could be a major reason why Google is saving on rewards to Maps contributors.
Buenas tardes Morten, un gusto. Comprendo que Google ahorre dinero en incentivar a la comunidad Local Guide, por razónes de Spam y ubicación falsas. Pero dentras de esa imagen negativa hay muchas personas trabajando muy bien con mejorar y eliminar esas marcas. Esta bueno el reconocimiento que hacen en EEUU, pero no tenemos la posibilidad de viajar. Me encantaria un evento en cada país. Un reconocimiento por llegar a los niveles altos haciendo un evento exclusivo 1 vez al año estaria muy bien . Saludos!
