Adding Roads on Android Phones and Tablets: Step-by-Step Guide for Beginners

I’ve created a simple, step-by-step guide on how to add roads on Android smartphones and tablets. This post is designed for beginners, especially those new to the process.

Step-1 Open the Google Maps app on your device.

Step 2 Find the Options at the top of the screen. Tap “Update road”.

Step-3 Tap “Missing road”.

Step-4 Tap “ Start drawing”,

Step-5 Move the pin to the location where the missing road begins.

Step-6 Drag the pin along the path of the missing road to its end point ( Step-7). Tap “Add point”

Add the road name (Optional): Enter the road's name.

Step-8 Select the appropriate Road type (Local road, Main road, Car park, Cycle/walking trail).

Step-9 Tap on Next

Step-10 To add additional missing roads, tap “+Add another road” and follow steps 4-9

Step-11 Tap on Submit

* A message pops up showing points earned.

Please be aware that you can only submit edits to Maps in some countries and regions.

I hope it’s helpful! Please share your feedback and suggestions in the comments.

Cheers!

This is super-amazing @PrasadVR Ji :+1:

I needed this guide to get started with road addition.

Also coupled with your showers of knowledge shared on this subject in yesterday’s meetup, I am sure more local guides will join TRAC and we will see more roads added with better quality and reliability. :handshake:

Your help and continuous support in this regards is highly appreciated :bouquet:

Well done you @PrasadVR. Subsequent to yesterday’s meet-up [Virtual] India, February 08, Ghumakkad Gossip: Editing Roads For Beginners, where you as a Guest Speaker bestow the knowledge to the participants on Editing Roads, this post of yours is going to add value to the beginners in editing road.

I agree with you and this is the reason why I stopped adding roads on mobile devices. You never know if the road you are adding is already waiting for approval.
