My dear friends “Roaders”,
dear fellows,
with joy, I share with you a milestone that once seemed like a mirage:
adding 100,000 new roads to Google Maps.
This achievement is the result of teamwork, passion, dedication, and pride in our “TRAC Community.”
I want to express my gratitude to all those who made this incredible result possible. Your support, help, and encouragement ignited the spark of a project that came to life through our collaboration.
I still remember the early steps of this adventure and how a simple interest turned into a mission.
I always thought I was just a user of Google Maps, but in recent years, I realized I could contribute to improving the user experience.
The Local Guide community has been an inexhaustible source of inspiration, always ready to share knowledge and experiences.
A special thanks goes to @ErmesT , my first mentor, who introduced me to the art of mapping uncharted paths. (related to my "National Park"project)
My continuous participation in Local Guide Connect (LGC) allowed me to meet @SholaIB , a visionary who involved me in his “TRAC Campaign” project. This initiative, born from the enthusiasm of a group of enthusiasts, has brought new roads to Google Maps. (By the way, as of today, the “roaders” of 2023 and 2024 have contributed nearly 1,150,000 new roads added !!) A project so revolutionary that it not only repeated the following year but now we are on the verge of the third edition.
My baptism as a “ROADER” happened during the TRAC 2023 Campaign. Starting from scratch in March 2023 (oh yes! My table saw a 0 next to “Roads Added” ) , I embarked on a long and sometimes frustrating journey.
It was really disappointing to have a 0 in our “score table”, isn’t it @JanVanHaver 
Many of the paths I added were initially rejected by the system, and it often took months to get approval. Despite the difficulties and disappointments that discouraged many roaders who gave up, my determination prevailed.
To all of you, my dear “ROADERS,” I dedicate this achievement.
This is an invitation to continue pursuing our goals with the same passion.
Finally, I extend a warm invitation to all “Local Guides” to follow and accept @SholaIB 's invitation to his project, joining us in this mapping/drawing adventure.
In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude and mention some special people:
- @ErmesT , who has been my mentor, guide, and constant reference point in my journey.
- @JanVanHaver and his invaluable “LetsGuidePodcast,” which provided me with inspiration and knowledge at crucial moments. (YOU have to listen to it! )
- @MortenCopenhagen with whom I shared moments of frustration over the poor “approval rate,” but who also represented fundamental support.
- @SholaIB my “captain,” indeed, THE CAPTAIN of the ROADERS and creator of the TRAC TEAM, who has skillfully guided and motivated us.
A special greeting and thanks go to my friends in the TRAC group, without whom this milestone would not have been possible. Your collaboration, friendship, and support have been indispensable.
