Add New Place

I am new on google maps…

Can someone tell me how to add a place on google maps.

I’m traveling in Japan and I cannot add new places or information which is a pity because there is missing info in the current map. Is this happening to everyone or just when you travel ?

It has happened to me several times. Usual the business person has claimed the business and is stopping you from adding it…It’s a hidden Gem I guess… i Just list them in my post…so people know about it.

@MarkEpicurean Do you mean you don’t see an option to add new places or is it that you can add the places but they are not approved?

No option to add new or missing places

The option is there to ad a missing place but you have to go into your accounts and click on add missing place…its all the way to the bottom way pass the contribution button…@MarkEpicurean

The way I have been adding a new place is by following steps

1. Long press at the location where you want to add a place.

2. Information for the pressed Geo graphical location will come up.

3. Press the last option that says ’ Add a missing place '.

1- click right click

2- click “add a missing place

3- Fill as much details as you know

4- click send

And how you do this if your signal get lost and there is no wifi, no mobilnet, nothing? And Google Maps does not have a clue where I am or where I was. And after I go to a place where is mobilnet, I can not add I am here at the moment, because I would of cheat the map, so I do not want to do that. What would I do?

Hi @amelkuhn44 , I believe that in modality off - line maps does not enable to add new places.

I usually use my mobile to add a missing place. I follow the given step to do so,

1. Open the Maps Application on my mobile.
   
2. Tap on the menu Icon in the topmost left corner almost besides search here text.
3. In the menu tap on Add a missing place.
   
4. Add place details accordingly
   
5. Scroll down and tap on Add a photo, the photo is always recommended to add, to give the algorithm the confidence that the place is genuine
   
6. Choose a photo from your gallery to upload.
   
7. Once all steps are done, tap on the save icon in the topmost right corner, it will be blue in color once all required fields are filled.
   
8. You have successfully added the missing place in the maps. It will appear for other once approved.

This is quite helpful locally for countries like Pakistan, because, I feel that a lot of information is missing even for big cities like Karachi.

To add a new place on google maps.

Follow these steps…

1. Tap on the spot or placce which you to add.
2. There is add a missing place …just tap on it.
3. Fill up all the details name , category etc.
4. Send it to google maps.
   
   
   Google maps review it…and publish it if the information is right.

yes,

first u go on that location on Google maps.

And mark that location. click on that mark.

then various option will open at that mark .

click on missing location .

add data of that location.

like name of place .

mobile no. …

add photos…

add website. etc

then click right on upper arror

that’s it.

Google take some time to approve that location. if it should be genuine information regarding that location…

u will check at your contribution.

click on edits .

open list. of your edits and check from it.

that’s it…
