The location is in an ancient temple that is still active today, for worship, and for tourists. The name of the temple is Watchediluang Varahirarn. Located in the center of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The temple is also known as the pillar of the city of Chiang Mai.
There are 3 trees as I mentioned earlier in Watchediluang Varaviharn. Each has a diameter of 1.3 meters. The height is 37 meters, 40.2 meters and the highest is 42.8 meters. Really big and tall, right?!
The tree, according to a reference, is a Dipterocarpus Alatus tree. So it can reach that size and height, of course because of the care and love of the temple administrators, the government and the local community. Thank you for all that!
When I visited a few months ago, I expressed my gratitude to the tree by pouring a bottle of drinking water on its roots. Because it has become a living pillar of the city, which in addition to being a symbol of greatness, also provides fresh oxygen.
@BudionoS Wow, talk about a recipe for greatness! Those towering Dipterocarpus Alatus trees at Watchediluang Varaviharn are like the perfect dish—rich in history, bursting with life, and seasoned with centuries of care. Just like a master chef nurtures flavors, these trees have been lovingly tended by the temple, the community, and nature itself.
Your gesture of watering the tree is like adding that final touch of seasoning—small but full of heart. After all, just like a great dish needs the right ingredients, a great city needs its green guardians. Hats off to you for honoring them and to the trees for being the city’s leafy legends.
Excellent… Three above 40 meter trees
Yes, as you may know, in India we worship different plants and trees… especially in temples, there may be trees with legends!
