A Magical Evening on the Chao Phraya: Celebrating Love, Life and Family ❤️

April 18, 2025, was more than just a date on the calendar—it was a day of celebration, reflection, and unforgettable memories. It marked our fifth wedding anniversary, and also the birthday of my beautiful wife Sumana, making it a truly double celebration. We were in Bangkok, one of our favorite cities, and we had something special planned to mark the occasion.

Our little adventure began at Nasa Bangkok Hotel, where we were staying. Around mid-afternoon, we set off in a cab toward Pier 1 of the ICONSIAM shopping mall—a vibrant riverside destination and the boarding point for the evening’s experience. The cab ride took about thirty minutes, and the weather was absolutely perfect—clear skies, a soft breeze, and the golden light of the setting sun starting to appear.

Upon arriving at the pier, we quickly presented our online booking code and were efficiently issued boarding tickets with a specific table number S46.

Everything was well-organized, which added to our excitement. My wife, our two daughters Ivana and Iyana, and my ever-loving mother-in-law were all with me—each of us eager to experience the Meridian Cruise’s Sunset Party on the stunning Chao Phraya River.

By 4:45 PM, we were aboard the cruise and ready for an evening to remember.

The moment the cruise set sail, we were enchanted. The Bangkok skyline began to glow in the warm hues of sunset as the boat gently glided along the river. Temples, bridges, and historic buildings shimmered on the water’s surface, creating postcard-worthy scenes at every turn. :passenger_ship:

Inside, the atmosphere was lively yet elegant. We were treated to an international buffet filled with delicious dishes—Thai curries, grilled meats, sushi, pasta, and an array of desserts that delighted both adults and kids alike. The cruise staff was attentive and courteous, even offering a small surprise cake for my wife’s birthday, which added a warm personal touch to the evening.

As we enjoyed the food and the view, soft music played in the background. Our elder daughter danced and giggled under the open sky, the lights of the city twinkling behind them. My mother-in-law looked on with a contented smile, soaking in the peace and beauty of the moment.

It wasn’t just a cruise—it was a celebration of family, of love, and of life’s fleeting yet precious moments.

As we docked back at ICONSIAM later that evening, hearts full and smiles wide, I knew this cruise would remain one of our most cherished memories—where Bangkok gave us a magical evening we’ll never forget.
