I stumbled upon this historic garden while I was searching for a garden to visit in my early days in Australia. After reading the reviews and looking at the photos, I decided to visit. And, I was astonished with it’s beauty. It’s located in beautiful Dandenong Ranges and drive there itself is scenic.
The garden is part of Beeches estate but open to public all year around. It’s open from 10am to 5pm and free to enter.
Alfred Nicholas, the owner, hired an expert gardener to start building this magnificent place in early 1900s. It’s well know for it’s water features: pools, waterfall, ornamental lake and iconic boat house. The whole garden is set on a downward slop. So be prepared to do some hiking. ?
Thank you for sharing this amazing location and those great photos with us. Looks like heaven on Earth!
This garden looks more like a park to me, it seems to be huge!
One of my favorite gardens is the Majorelle in Marrakesh, Morocco. Such a peaceful place in the middle of a crowded city. You can always read more about it in the following link.
@Austinelewex Garden is open to public and there is no entrance fee. You can meditate there, I don’t think there is any restrictions. There is a beautiful island, you can see in one of the pics, in middle of lake for picnics.
There isn’t any store in the garden but you can bring your food for picnics.
