7 Coffee Shop in Semarang, Central Java

Who believes that coffee can be our very best friend in very moment in life. No matter what term you having coffee, it always turn your mood up and passionated.

I’ve been stay in Semarang City for around 3 years and found out that this city have more than enough coffee shop to try. There is some coffee shop that serve fresh and good coffee, but there is some places that turn out my first visit become the last visit.

I’m not a pro with coffee, but when you eat, eat whoeheartedly. same with coffee that we have to enjoy it wholeheartedly. Everyone deserve a happiness that comes out from a good cup or a glass of coffee no matter you having in single or double shot.

Coffee should serve fresh with passion of glamorous

Here comes 7 coffee shop that usually i visit during days or weekend.

1. Kofinary Espresso Bar

Add: Dokter Cipto No.183A, Karangturi, Kec. Semarang Tim., Semarang City

Good for working space, serve good coffee. They have some snack and pastries.

What i love about this place is this place not only over a good coffee but also the ambiance and furniture itself bring out the good mood. and never feeling bored to stay longer and just chill around.

They have some rooms with different theme. Have a high chair and Outdoor area.

Located next to interior workshop.

2. The Blue Lotus Coffee House

Add: Ahmad Yani No.197, South Semarang , Semarang City, Central Java 50241

If you like coffee shop with dimmer area, Blue Lotus Coffee might be your answer. they keep up the java design and style for their interior style. have a great divide room for smoking and non smoking room.

Good for group or having coffee alone, also they Blue Lotus very cozy for working space.

Blue Lotus also serve many brunch menu and snack with good taste and variety. Overall Food and coffee is good. i love the Quiche!!

3. Adulam Coffee .etc

Add: MH. Thamrin, Sekayu, Semarang City

Located in the main Thamrin Road. This tiny coffee shop almost out of your sight when you pass by the road. This shop located next to Ikan Bakar Tungku Resto.

They always serve a fresh coffee, i love their Kopiko (long pressed coffee), and also have good ambience of interior…

Unfortunatedly, for this coffee shop doesn’t have a car park area. If you plan to stay longer, the nearest parking area at Thamrin Square. or if you bring your motorcycle usually people park at the pedestrian area. Because of this reason, i ussually enjoy their coffee at home by order through Online Application (Go-Jek).

4. Kofitere

Add: Erlangga Barat 7 No. 15, Pleburan

Kofitiere is the similar coffee shop with Kofinary, They have same management but this one have a bigger space. Located in the Central City with green and white minimalism interior, bring this shop become popular and highly wanted visited in Semarang.

They serve Coffee, Non Coffee, Pastries Menu with some instagramable spot. The service quite good and also good for groups or alone.

5. Kedai Kopi Kulo Semarang

Add (3): Puri Anjasmoro, KH Ahmad Dahlan, Tembalang

For you that love coffee, but can’t stand for the strong one. Kulo might be your choice to enjoy coffee. Located in 3 different area in Semarang, also available for delivery through Online Apps (Go-Jek, Grab).

Kulo in Java means me, they have nice and creative logo that turns out you can imagine a fave layout from K, U, L, O alphabet.

I Have 2 Favorit menu from Kulo: Kopi Susu, Cookies and Cream. Must try!!

6. Steam n Brew

Add: Depok, Semarang City

Small but cozy. I Love this Coffee Shop because they have not to many chair, so you won’t bothered by the noise and also you can enjoy the barista preparation for your order. overall the coffee taste is good here. Have a limited parking lot.

7. Kedai Kopi Oma

Add: Rinjani No. 21, Semarang City

Not only Oma-Oma (Grandmother) allowed to come here… but everyone allowed welcoming you with a basket of chips, let you order and waiting for your order by enjoying the blue door frame and unique tiles… Kedai Kopi Oma serve snack, coffee, main course and desserts: Ice Cream with unique flavor that you must try… one of them is Tolak Angin Ice Cream… taste like mint when it melt. Try their Kopi Susu: better cold and Burger… yummy

Besides this 7 Coffee Shop there are many more coffee shop around Semarang, its become habbit of people to grow coffee shop around here. but this 7 is the first most coffee shop that i visited and always bring up the best bith of service and coffee itself…

Thanks for this list @Gracelina_jap ! My Dad is from Semarang and I often go with him to visit the city whenever I’m back home in Indonesia. We both love coffee, so we’ll definitely check out the places on your list next time I’m home :slight_smile:

Wow, thank you for the list! Next time I visit Semarang, I will definitely try one of your recommendation. Especially Kedai Kopi Kulo, I’ve heard a lot of great things about it. Is it that good?

Yes, i usually comes to Kedai Kopi Kulo for work, chit chat, even sometimes make a delivery purchase hahaha…

It’s a nice place, even the space not too big. what i like always they serve fresh and fast…

There are a lot of hype in Jakarta from what I heard about this type of coffee, one of it is this one Kopi Kenangan, it’s similar right? I didn’t know from which city it originally started but it is everywhere now in Jakarta.

If you are in Jakarta, you must try this cafe called 1/15 Coffee, the ambiance there is very nice just to relax and the coffee there is one of the best. in my opinion. They have a great selection of snacks too!
