@helga19 , I am very impressed of your knowledge about the Moroccan cuisine and you remind me of my brother in law and his family. They’re originally from Russia too and my sister invites them for dinner or lunch, they enjoy her dishes.

My brother in law is good in cooking lamb too. I love his roasted lamb. He put some dry herbs and put it in the oven. It’s so delicious!

Hello @Victoria_v ,

It seems that you had a great stay in Morocco, and I’m very happy that you kept all these beautiful memories!

Hummus is not a Moroccan dish, it’s somewhere from the Middle East, but not really sure about the country of its origins. In Morocco, there is a very similar dish which is called bissara. The meal consists of either dried chickpeas or beans turned into a kind of puree. Once ready, you put some cumin, paprika and olive oil over it and you serve it as a main meal while it’s still hot.

PS: I’ve seen the goats several times, mainly on the Argan trees, between Marrakesh and Essaouira. Funny how they don’t move, they were born to be models!

Thank you @SunshineNY for bringing back the sweet taste of my childhood. I remembered the amazing smell that filled the whole house when the women in our family used to prepare ghriba, feqass, qrashel, etc.

However, I don’t remember that ghriba contains almond powder! I always thought that it’s the easiest and less expensive cookie to do.

@BorrisS you’re very welcome! Yes, now they start to add almond on it and it tastes very good. It’s the new version now but some people don’t use almond.

Fekass and Ghereyba are my favorites ones, easy to make and It’s not complicated for following the rules of baking; to be specific.

Indeed @pitrisalwa , and I guarantee you that each one of these meals is very delicious!

I’m impressed @SunshineNY , it seems that you have a photo of every single Moroccan meal and sweet. Is this a homemade feqass? In Italy, there is a very similar and close sweet to the feqass and it is called cantuccini.

Hi @BorrisS !

@BorrisS , thank you, yes, it’s homemade and I baked them. There is no big choice to find what I want here so I learned how to make them.

Cantuccini, now I am learning something new. I thought everything is biscotti. Thanks for sharing this information. Each time I am learning something from you and Local guides too.

I’m happy about that @SunshineNY , and congratulation for the feqass that you made.

The cantuccini look like feqass, but they are much more harder.
