Thanks for this very useful Updates
@TiffanyBnyc great Google update to show the awareness and contributions of so many local centers. Amazing!
A simple initiative makes a big change that’s what is see in your post @Makongo I hope that everyone take some initiative as Individual to contribute good as well as safe for our mother earth.
Thank you mate! For those inspiring words. Good morning!
Thank you for this great article @TiffanyBnyc Taking care of Mother Earth is very important indeed. Thank you for also highlighting my composting post
Thanks to this great post @TiffanyBnyc .
Glad to be mentioned here together with great Local Guides like @Cecilita , @rebecaellerf , @MariaNgo , @SebaasC , @lakeoftea , @Jesi , @PritishB , @PennyChristie and @Ddimitra .
I have learned a lot from all of them about different ways to support sustainability, and they helped me to design my way for doing that.
Looking at the contributions of most of them I would like to add that supporting a green, accessible and not overcrowded tourism is another way that we Local Guides can have to improve sustainability.
The technology gives us the possibility to design and shape the future, that’s why I imagined (and wrote) “The sixth R.” (Rethinking, Redesign)
Accessible Life is part of this “idea” of a more sustainable world.
Happy Earth Day to everyone
Thanks so much for posting this. A really helpful tip. I just posted a picture of a shopping cart thrown in the harbour and it infuriated me. We have a big issue on the west coast of Scotland with people disposing of fast food wrapper, plastic bottles and anything else by simply tossing away at the roadside or in the most beautiful possible spot. Using your tip I will try to encourage more people to do the right thing. Thanks.
Hello @TiffanyBnyc , It’s really important!
Our Local Guides is Goal 4, “Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all”. All goals start with this 4.
Japan is now aiming to reuse or recycle the collected clothing completely, with no slight loss.

Hi @JanVanHaver ,
Can you please share examples with links of business profiles in Belgium that don’t have the recycling attributes? Thank you!
hi @TiffanyBnyc
Thank you for mention my profile in this post. Happy Earth Day Everyone.
Inspired and taught by Sandra, Bali Local Guides I made some bags from coffee sachets and also made a meetups to teach the tutorials.
Congratulations to all friends.
Thanks for the great tip! Can’t wait for this option made available for hkg user!
@TiffanyBnyc Thank you for bringing together the ideas of local guides on sustainability. Recycling and repurposing things is something I’m keen on - it pains me when I see perfectly clean plastic drinking water bottles mixed in with landfill type material :[
My local gym has an e-waste collection bin which is so helpful - now we have a handy place to take small electronic waste to to be disposed of correctly and safely. I like to take photos where companies and businesses are doing their bit to care for planet earth.
I find it so encouraging that my local supermarket has shopping trolleys that are made from plastic bottles that have been recycled. I only just found out recently that these trolleys were developed right in Melbourne!

@ErmesT That is a very interesting thought “a green, accessible and not overcrowded tourism” . Food for thought!
On the line of tourism and sustainability - I wonder how much rubbish are improperly disposed of by tourists who are not aware of local practices or who can’t read the language …?
I stayed at a youth hostel in San Fran one year and was struck by the fact that they clearly label one bin ‘Landfill’ - I thought that was such a powerful way of reminding people where the rubbish goes .
Thank you @TiffanyBnyc for sharing this top notch post, which is seriously a need of hour. I would surely try to contribute towards it through my post!
