5 tips to take better food photos during your cafes and restaurant visit

These few tips can make the food photos look amazing.

  1. Hold the camera tilted horizontally to fill in the depth of foreground and background.

  2. Try to style the frame adding the servings given by the restaurants along with the food like ketchup, breads, salt and pepper. This adds in a lot to make a thematic scene.

  3. Always take care of what’s coming in the background of your photo. Don’t be afraid to change a position to get that perfect looking background.

  4. Choose a sitting place near a window or near a place where the source of light can bring life to your photo. This will help better the quality of your photos as dark environment will always have grainy pictures clicked from your phone.

  5. Last but not the least. Try to capture the ambience and restaurant photos too and make a nice collarge to create a complete pack of the feel and experience you had that can be seen in your photos.

Hi @shipra_rajora ,

Thanks for sharing your tips on Food photography. I’m always taking photos when I’m at a cafe, especially being a Local Guide, I always want to share the best looking photo on Google Maps.

Have you read our amazing article on 5 tips to consider when styling food ? There are different photos from different angles. It always depends on the light. To me the key is the food itself, so that should be the main character and the rest are only complimenting.
