I love to visit botanical gardens. It is a nice place you can learn about plants and trees. It is also a nice place to bring children there.
Mostly botanical gardens in Germany are belong to universities. Some you can visit it for free. Some you need to pay a ticket but not much. Usually about €2-6. Other thing make me put the botanical garden on my list is: It usually has a greenhouse so it is not problem to be visited in the winter :*

It actually opens for public. Though belongs to the University you do not need to be a student to go visit. Some botanical gardens are free of charge (just need to pay attention for its opening hours). Some with ticket. Usually around €2-6.
