Thank you to everyone who participated in the Local Guides community in 2026! From local and regional meet-ups to ConnectLive, it’s been awesome to see all the ways this community came together to explore, share and celebrate. And as we shared in Mexico City, ConnectLIVE is coming back in 2027!
To make sure you’re eligible to receive invitations for events and experiences near you, please double check your email preferences and location associated with your Local Guides account. You must be opted-in to receive Rewards emails and your city should be updated to reflect where you spend the majority of your time.
We’ll be hosting ConnectLIVE in three new locations. You’ll be able to apply to attend soon.
Who is eligible to attend a Local Guides event?
Events are open to active Local Guides who consistently share helpful, relevant, and accurate information on Maps, while actively building and participating in the Local Guides community.
What can I do to increase my chances of being invited to an event?
While there is no one thing you can do to guarantee an invitation to ConnectLIVE or other Local Guides events, here are some things that we do look for:
Consistently share high quality information on Maps
This is good news. Thanks @Kristen_NYC for this amazing initiative and your work in the local guides community. I believe local guides from Africa with visa challenges will be considered and supported for this great event.
Excited to see ConnectLIVE returning in 2027! Looking forward to connecting with fellow Local Guides, sharing experiences, and contributing more to the community.
Thank you @Kristen_NYC for sharing these helpful details and for the clear guidance on what the team looks for. I’m looking forward to making more meaningful contributions to Maps and Connect, and hopefully meeting this amazing community in person at ConnectLIVE next year.
Wow, thank you so much for such exciting news, @Kristen _NYC !
I’m so excited and want to wish the best of luck to everyone who will be a part of the 2027 events!
