2000 Reviews ✍🏽

Hey @MortenCopenhagen , small update if you don’t mind. :smile:

Compared to last week about 20 extra reviews got published, still 1000 reviews left to be published. I understood though that it will take multiple weeks which I understand.

Funny now is that one of the reviews that I posted last week, before I stopped writing, gets rejected by Google. I submitted an appeal to make it public, but I assume that this has something to do with my reviews not getting published. In the past I got this email just a few times, and after the appeal always gets published. But I did not get this email for the other 1000 reviews though.

It is a weird situation.

Today I see 1110 of your reviews are public.

I don’t know how quickly they get republished after being checked.

Let’s keep an eye on it.

Hello @MortenCopenhagen , I wanted to update you, and also ask for your opinion.

I received multiple more emails about reviews not getting posted and that I can appeal. All those emails the appeals were approved, except for one. For some reason this review of screenshots below is not posted and I don’t see why the appeal was rejected, as it is not against the policy.

Apart from that, last week I saw some more reviews getting published, as I had 1046 published reviews. Today when I checked again, suddenly even less reviews are published with the number of 1027… For some reason I have less reviews published now, it seems to get worse. Very sad about this, and I feel helpless as there is no direct communication with the relevant team. :pensive:

I doubt we are seeing the effect of your appeal yet, @Stphn

When did you submit the hidden contributions form?

Cheers

Hello @MortenCopenhagen ,

I received multiple emails where it said that specific reviews were not posted, and where I could submit the appeal for each review. All of those appeals separately were approved and then published Google said, but one of them was rejected because it does not follow the policy. It is very weird though, because I am 100% sure the review does follow the policy. Screenshot in previous email is showing that specific review that is against Google’s policy, as you can see there is nothing wrong with it.

Strange things are happening to my reviews it seems, and I don’t know why.

I’m not referring to the individual appeals. Just keep submitting those as the are offered.

I mean this form

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdEYYLY9EUPoAy9Wj_qqsbUd8kF9g_hiR0P2GXdrSoubu57og/viewform

Also let me know if you have submitted it more than once.

I need to be sure that this form is filled and when it was submitted.

@MortenCopenhagen , the form was submitted on 21 September. I had connectivity issues while submitting it the first time, and was not sure the submission was recorded so I submitted it again. Not sure if 1 or 2 forms were received.

Currently there are 1028 reviews published. Also it seems that my photo contributions of past months are not published as well.

@Stphn

It is likely too early to expect results from the form. If you submitted it twice this will he filtered. Not a problem.

Your latest public photo are from 5 days ago.

Thanks @MortenCopenhagen for checking. For some reason on desktop when I filter on date, it is showing of photos that I posted months ago.

Fingers crossed…

I checked on mobile only, @Stphn

@MortenCopenhagen I submitted the form on 22 September, and at that time I had 1065 reviews public.

Today, 28 October, I have 1029 reviews public and it has stayed like that for weeks.

I feel hopeless. Nothing happened after submitting the form. I cannot post new reviews because they are not even getting approved. After 4 years of being a loyal Local Guide, is this it then? :pensive:

@Stphn

As more than 6 weeks has passed since you submitted the form and you see no improvements the sad conclusion is that you must have done something wrong to trigger the spamfilter to block and hide your reviews.

As others still can’t see your hidden reviews I don’t know how to help you.

I’m sorry
Morten

How can I get help from someone from Google in this case, to get at least an explanation @MortenCopenhagen ?

I have attended Connect Live, I was a Guiding Star, and now suddenly I am subject to a spam filter because I wrote many reviews? I know I am 100% fair, and that all of my reviews are completely genuine.

It is absolutely sad that I have spent hundreds of hours contributing which is not even published…

@Stphn
Just to be sure: Are you aware that there are two different appeals forms? Could it be that you used the wrong one?
Morten

@MortenCopenhagen this is the form that I used:

Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps

That is the correct form.

In this situation, I would recommend that you also try the other one:
https://support.google.com/local-guides/contact/local_guides_appeal

as it says : if you’ve noticed many of your contributions have been removed

You can expect a reply within maybe 3 days via email.

Fingers crossed
Morten
