I’m excited to announce that we are now in the final stage to decide the winners of the community-led design challenges to celebrate 10 years of the Local Guides Program. In this final stage, it is you, the community that gets to pick your winning designs.
But before we get to the voting process, here’s a brief recap/info on how we got here!
We kicked off two design challenges to come up with a logo and a
t-shirt design. We were looking for original, fun, and exciting designs that represented the global community in celebrating 10 fabulous years of Local Guides!
At the deadline, we received 102 logo designs from 34 participants, and 64 t-shirt designs from 21 participants! We went through all the designs, assigned random file names to them and removed any personal identifiers to ensure that in the judging stages, we couldn’t tell which Local Guide created them.
Stage 1: Thirteen Connect Moderators that were not participating in the design challenges then each anonymously voted for their top 10 selections. The votes were tallied and due to tied positions we ended up with the top 15 logo designs and 12 t-shirt designs. We will announce these Stage 1 finalists along with the winning designs in the next post!
Stage 2: The Local Guides team were then tasked to help narrow down the top designs to 3-5 final designs, which now brings us to…
Stage 3: The finalists and the public vote!
Before we get to the voting part, please take note of the following:
- You can only vote once for each category
- Your vote is counted when the poll closes so you can change your vote at any time before the poll closes. The poll closes on Friday 21st February 2025 at 23:45 (GMT-12)
- Please vote for what you believe is the best design. This is NOT a popularity contest
- If you are the creator of the designs, please DO NOT disclose your identity. To the rest of the community, please DO NOT disclose who the creators are. We want the voting to be anonymous and unbiased
- The winning designs may still undergo some minor tweaks. This is to ensure that the designs are printable and legible
- For the t-shirt designs, there is a stipulation to provide a modifiable area. In the instance that no modifiable area was offered by the creator, I will work with the creator to add a modifiable area later if the design wins. So, don’t penalise the design(s) if no modifiable area is available at this stage
So, here we are and I’m delighted to present to you, in alphabetical order (based on the random file names), our finalists for the logo and t-shirt design challenges!
