Muriwai Beach Gannet Colony - Auckland, New Zealand

Muriwai Beach is a publicly accessible beach in West Auckland, New Zealand. Each Spring/Summer (Sept-March), thousands of these gannet birds come here to nest and lay eggs. Once the eggs are laid, the parents share the parenting by alternating between nesting/gathering food. Muriwai is a windy, rugged coastline (perfect for surfing) stretching about 60km of black volcanic sand.

Las playas de Cuba

En el 2010 tuve la oportunidad de visitar Cuba, en mis vacaciones pero en el invierno, en esta parte del mundo, enero. Otra cosa también fue que ocurrió el desastre en Haití con lo cual fueron unas vacaciones un tanto complicadas. A pesar de eso y de que el agua estaba un tanto fría y la comida no era tan sabrosa, etc, etc. Fueron unas vacaciones pasables.

Las playas realmente son hermosas y el agua es como en todo el Caribe muy cristalinas. Es muy económico ir, no lo puedo recomendar, ya que mi experiencia no fue tan afortunada. Pero si escuchas hablar a todo aquel que fue, cuenta cosa extraordinarias. 😀 Aquí algunas fotos de esas playas.
