Why are there no or only very rare perks for Local Guides?

Why is Google so least bothered about appreciating and rewarding Local Guides?

I see YouTube contributors get good money and also get very good perks like silver play button, golden play button, t-shirts, trips and lot more.

Local Guides' contribution plays a main or major role in Google Maps data collection and verification. While Google is making a big business out of Google Maps, why isn't Google treating Local Guides also like YouTube contributors?

The local guides communities could have some kind of discount or benefit for Local Guides on new places, this would contribute to increase the number of reviews in and visibility of new places.

I totally agree with Gunassekaren, I think more people would contribute to the local guides if the perks were better.

I personally like to keep exploring and posting photos on maps.

My parents only tell me that why am I spending so much on traveling to just click photos and post them.

They also tell that only if you benefit from it or if you get some money or goodies for posting then continue otherwise it is a waste of time and energy.

Few months ago, I was discussing with my friend about this subject and he told me that I'm wasting my time for free because Google Pays punch of money for Youtubers and do nothing for LG and both programs owned by Google, in fact, this is absolutely unfair!

Helll everyone, i have an idea regarding perks givrn by Gmap time to time. Though i haven't received any like socks,sticker and i am LG of level 7. I think instead of gifts like socks,sticker they should offer memory cards of 32 or 64gb or pendrives,headfones,perfumes and other goodies like Google offers to Youtubers it would really help and encourage us to work and contribute more.
