Poor Page Loading Speeds

Hi friends,

I feel the page load speeds of our local connect forums are very poor. I checked the same using Google PageSpeed Insights and Here are the results below:

 Don't you think this should improve and pages should be able to load within google specified durations ( 3 seconds) ?

Yes, I found similar issue too. Loading page is so slow.

There's certainly scope for improvement. 

I tested http://localguidesconnect.com/ with the Full Page test in Pingdom Tools.

The page took 15654 ms to load, used 172 requests, and weighed in at 5.4 MB, this seems excessive.

The entire format seems clunky and biased towards brand new or promoted content with anything slightly older quickly demoted out if view.

Yes, connect site is too slow compare to other sites. @dotcompals

Took 13.93 seconds to load with 136 requests. I wish google would possibly try to fix this considering alot of their other sites have have better loading speed such as gmail with 1.82 seconds to load.
