Google Drive Storage Perk

A perk for contributing can be Google Drive Storage. The more you contribute the more storage you can have access to. Also if you store your photos in Drive that you contributed you can gain more Storage. Or gain access to more storage by ranking.

Hi Google,

Kindly provide free storage to google local guide on permanently basis.

Provide minimum 200gb to active local guides , who is contributing continuously photos videos on map.

So by providing  free extra storage  it will boost performance of local guides and map content will improve precisely.

So it's suggestions to google. Kindly look into this and provide permanent free storage to local guides.

Thanks,

Nirbhay Singh

I agree with @nirbhaysingh281  -  local guides (level 7 and beyond) may be provided with free Google Drive storage. to start with each level should get free storage may be like:

Level 7: 25GB additional

Level 8: 25GB additional

Level 9:  50GB additional

Level 10: 100GB additional

In all 200GB storage could be shared in a scheme like the one described above.

Level 7

I agree with @nirbhaysingh281. There must be additional storage for local guides.

But 200GB is somehow a big figure. The options for storage given by @vyapak are more pragmatic, Google should consider those.

Gamification is the beauty of local guides option on google maps. I must admit that I joined this because of rewards. It becomes a demotivation factor when all those points are meant for nothing. Google should consider rewards seriously.

Level 7

I agree with @aahan  and also @ZULFI_

Only real contributors tend to reach Level 7 and beyond and additional space on drive is what they need to contribute more and more. Hence it would not only be a reward and a motivation for Sr. LGs but would also enrich the contribution both in quantity and quality.

Hello @nirbhaysingh281,

Thank you for sharing, but similar idea had been suggested before and I'm merging it - Google Drive Storage Perk to avoid duplicate ideas.

In addition to that, I redacted your personal contact details from the post. You might not know but we do not encourage Local Guides to share private information publicly on Connect in order to protect yours and other users' privacy and safety.

If you wish to get in touch with other Local Guides, there is a private messaging system in place instead.

Hi local guides program.
I have level 8, it means 15,000 points. A lot of my work.
I added 1905  photos to the maps, which were seen 7,528,065 times.
My 265 opinions were read by 125 892 people.

And still every month I have to pay for google 46,99 PLN (~11 euros) for 2TB of disk space, where I can keep photos, which I will add to the maps.
Something is wrong here. What are the benefits of helping you to improve your maps?

I think that active guides at high levels should have free extra disk space. I feel bad about myself that I have to pay for it, considering how much time it costs me to do well for you Google. Maybe it is your turn now?

A local guide does what he/she does because he/she has the initiative and willingness to do it, loves taking photos and filming videos, and, above all, helping the community by providing valuable opinions that allow countries, cities and businesses around the world to integrate more and more.

However, I believe that Google could help us with work tools. A very important one is to have more storage space in the virtual cloud. Logically, to have access to it, you would have to filter in some way, for example, Google Maps records, quality of recommendations, diversity of recommendations, among other additional ways. The challenge is to create a procedure that does not encourage the poor quality of the Local Guide's contributions. That would be worse than the problem.

Hope this helps. Good vibes!
