Ability to Cancel Pending Edits

We all make mistakes. Currently, if we make a mistake in an edit in Maps, and realize that mistake, there is no way for us to withdraw an edit if it is in a pending state. We are forced to wait for the edit, even if wrong to be approved and published or "Not Applied".

Please consider adding an "undo" or "cancel" for edits in a pending state. Why should any editor want to waste another person's time checking facts when they know its incorrect.

Eventually this ability should be extended to pending edits submitted through the feedback process (roads and other miscellaneous).

@IrrPavlova I see no problems with a LG having the freedom to remove a recently requested edit of his or her own making.   Most edits are done correctly, in hopes of immediate acceptance. Therefore, removing one's edit would only be for the best,  mainly to save time to the Google infrastructure on reviewing the erroneous edit. And secondly to save face for having posted the mistake!

Local Guides need the ability to delete requests that are pending but also incorrect based on further information. For example, if a business is thought to be closed and edited that way, it might be discovered later on that it is still running. The edit is incorrect and pending, but cannot be removed. It is like a time bomb waiting to go off. The hope is that it will not be approved but there is a risk that it will be. It would be better to allow the Local Guide to remove the request before it happens.

Thanks for merging the idea. When I went to submit the idea, it automatically tried to find matching ideas and did not find one. Thought the system would work a bit Quora but guess not. Thanks for the tip to search for the ideas first. 

How do you we know if these ideas are being considered and when they might be implemented? I am sure there is a standard answer for this, but I do not know what it is.

Sometimes we add an existing place to the map and discover that it is already in the google map and that leads for duplicate entries b/c at the time it is approved we might over looked it or forget to delete or merge it.

Sometimes happen that you make a wrong correction in the edit, but you can't delete or edit it again, you have to wait that your ''wrong'' edit is approved (or not approved) and edit again. So I would like to have the chance to delete or edit again my correction.
