Bangla noboborsho is the first day of Bengali calendar. It is celebrated on 14th April every year. On this day national holiday in Bangladesh and Indian state of West Bengal.wherever there is a Bengali community pohela Bishakh is a huge festivity.in Bengali word phohela means the first and Boisahk is the first month in the traditional our Bangla calendar.
Pohela boishakh have very important tradition. People have a bath and the whole house is thoroughly cleaned.pepole traditionally visit mela their cousins friends and neighbours.
Mongol sobhajatra is important part of the pahela baishak.
Food is an important part of the Bengali new year.people usually eat Panta (rice soked in water).Shutki(dried fish).fried Hilsa fish with chilli and achar(pickles)
Woman traditional wear saris made of white cloth and Red border.
Man wear Kurta Punjabi white and red colour.
Every year Dhaka(Romna botomul) and Chittagong (DC Hill And CRB)Festive occasions are organized.
There is a song from Pahela Baishakh in Bangladesh that is ESHO HA BAISHAK ESHO ESHO.........
We celebrate pohela boishakh singing and dancing.
