@brittym I've heard about Sushi Nakazawa, but haven't got a chance to go to. I did go to Sukibnayashi Jiro back in 2014 though. Had to ask my Japanese coworker to make a reservation, and we got a few spots at the son's restaurant (Roppongi Hills, next to Google Tokyo office.. not the main shop in Ginza). Here's a few pics 🙂
These days I'm content with going to Daiwa Sushi in Tsukiji Fish Market though. Usually when I'm too jetlagged from the long trip, woke up too early in the morning. I just walk to the market (I always stay at Courtyard Inn in Ginza and wait until the shop opens at 5:30

@iyudhi Wow! Really cool pics! Thanks for sharing. I can't believe how small and intimate the restaurant setting is.... So, what are your thoughts on uni? Do you love it or hate it?!

@brittym I always hated uni. But uni that I ate in Tokyo taste so much different compared to the ones I tasted anywhere else. It's so fresh and creamy, and it's now my second favorite sushi (first is otoro 😛 ). So during my last layover in Tokyo, which is just last week, I had a chance to eat at Daiwa Sushi again. The person sitting next to me was actually from Los Angeles. He heard me speaking English and we started chatting. When the sushi chef gave us uni (we all ordered omakase), he told me I can have it, since he doesn't eat uni. I told him... go eat it, otherwise you will regret it. He was hesitating for a bit, but I managed to convince him. And I think he's glad he didn't give his uni to me since he ended up liking it 😄

@iyudhi Me when I tried uni: 🤮 But I'm glad I gave it a shot!! I hear it's an acquired taste--but I don't plan on trying to acquire it any more than I did over the weekend 😝

It's sounds like a nightmare @brittym to love something and to not be able to enjoy it without panicking that something bad will happen to you. 😞 I really don't wish that upon anyone, but I'm glad that you are alright and if we try to see the positive side of this misfortune, things could have been worse.
