Yup.  I understand the purpose behind the restriction for regular free trials, but this is supposed to be a reward for contributing.  The 3 month free trial of Google Play Music is something that's offered to anyone multiple times recently, so it's not really a perk at all - Google just wants us to think it is.  You also used to be able to get increased Drive storage at a certain Local Guide level, but they took that away too.  Google is a for-profit company that's convinced users to give it free (proprietary) data in exchange for "points" that are effectively meaningless.  This may be the thing that finally makes me stop contributing to Google and instead contribute to something like Open Street Maps, which at least makes it data open-source for all to use.

I love this perk but it's really a bummer that it's not available to existing subscribers. It almost feels like less of a perk and more of an upsell for current non-play subscribers.

@unlikelyhalo I have to say, the "reward" is far from it.  Especially when I feel that Google could do so much better.  75% off Google Play movie rentals?  Who really cares?  I mean I can watch other streaming services for a lot cheaper and for the rate of per month...  Time for Google to step up their game!
