The Coastal Zone of Malang Regency in Sumberbening Village, Bantur District in the Coastal Zone Zoning Plan is allocated for marine aquaculture and pelagic fishing zones. Therefore, there is a need for a method or technique on how to restore marine biota on the southern coast of Malang. In order for fishermen in the sea to catch fish only need to be on the shores of the coast. No need to go far in the middle of the sea.
One way that can be done is by rehabilitating mangroves. Because mangrove plants are not only as a barrier to abrasion of sea waves. Can be used as a house for mangrove crabs. By carrying out these activities as a manifestation of the realization of rehabilitation activities desired by the society. Hopefully, the area for houses of marine life belonging to the group of pelagic fish can be realized. Besides that, it is used as a mangrove area to enjoy the mangrove trees that grow in the area.
The implementation of mangrove planting begins at the estuary point west of the coast of Kondangmerak with a complete package of mangrove seedlings, bamboo pickles and raffia ropes. Not forgetting to record the location of the coordinate area, location tagging using Garmin GPS 64s was done to make it more accurate for future monitoring and evaluation activities. The famous fishing society is enthusiastic in this activity. Spirit of work to plant mangroves and maintain them so that in the long term they can have a positive impact other than as an abrasion barrier, can also be used as an area of mangrove streams.
