It’s World Photography Day! How are you celebrating?

World Photography Day is an annual global celebration of the art and craft of photography. It’s celebrated every year on August 19.

Photography has become a way for people to document the world around them, but it’s also an incredible medium for creative self-expression. With the simple click of your camera, you can create a preserved moment of a great food experience, or visit to a new place and share it with others! When you share your photos on Google Maps, people can see a piece of the world as you see it through your own eyes.

To celebrate World Photo Day, go out and capture a special moment or a beautiful scene. To give you some inspiration, we’re sharing amazing photos taken by Local Guides around the world. Scroll through to see these beautifully captured moments and then tell us how you’re celebrating World Photo Day in the comments below.

Re: It’s World Photography Day! How are you celebrating?

If you dig into the history of photography it’s amazing to read about how much work was involved to get your pic done, photos were much treasured by then! And now we have the blessing of having decent to sophisticated cameras in our hands, to keep memories of the simplest every day moments to unforgettable landscapes, I love going through old pictures and remembering all the great things I’ve seen and shared with the people I love D71A91AA-8E82-40B3-972F-473108DCC5C4.jpeg

Here’s a brief collection of happy memories, maybe technically messy to the expert’s eyes, but they’re a reminder of gratitude ❤️ Happy Photography Day!
