Wayanad
Wayanad is a non commercialised hill station on the northern part of Kerala, India. It is on the border of other south Indian States Karnataka and Tamilnadu. Nearest major cities are Bangalore (6 hour journey), Calicut (3 hour journey), Coimbatore (6 hour journey). Recently, Wayanad is in the limelight as Mr Rahul Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad for the upcoming election in Apr 2019.
Bangalore to Wayanad by road it takes almost 6-7 hours in Bangalore - Maddur - Mandya - Mysore - Gundlupet route. Regular buses are available. If you are planning sightseeing of Wayanad, hiring a cab for round trip is suggested. You can see lot of wild animals when you enter the Bandipur Tiger Reserve after forest check post.
Calicut to Wayanad
If you travel from Calicut to Wayanad, you can enjoy the ghat section view enroute. It takes 3 hours by road. Plenty of buses are available from the bus stand. Calicut has an international airport and a railway station.
Take a cab from Calicut to see the enroute sightseeing and to visit places in Wayanad.
Coimbatore to Wayanad
Coimbatore has an Airport and Railway Station. Buses are not available regularly. If you take a cab, enroute you can visit the famous hill station, Ooty as well.
