@Rcostaval,I completely agree with your comments. That’s the beauty about being a Local Guide, you can focus what interests you to help improve Google Maps in your community.
If you enjoy taking photos, take photos. Enjoy writing and like to share your new finds, write thorough reviews. You like to add or edit Maps, please do. Etc.
Cheers,
Karen

Hi.
Wow, 5M is a great achievement, congratulations!
If you want to compare your metrics with the other's, you can check the "badges earned" section in your profile. Every badge has "earned by" number, wich will give you the understanding of how many people in the world are on the same level as you. Unfortunately, there is no specific badge for the photo views, but still there are a lot of areas you can be the "chosen one" in 🙂
For example, if you are on the level 10, you can see there are only 418 persons like you in the program. And some positions are still vacant, with no single person achieved it yet. So there is still a lot of space for self-improvement!

Agree. Also, if Google chooses to promote your pic for a location it will have a very high number of views since it'll be the first picture someone sees in google maps.
Some of my least favorite pictures (from personal technical, composition, aesthetic point of view) have the most views on google maps because of this, so quality has little to no impact AFAICT.
Same thing can be said for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, other social media though. Bottom line is algorithms used by said companies probably plays a larger part than you might imagine in views you receive for any photo you post!
