A motivation is always good (money or otherwise), but helping others is also another good thing. You can see the detail of things that you can get from this program in "as a Local Guide, you earn points for sharing reviews, photos, and knowledge on Google Maps."

Absolutely, Google Guides are doing their best & spending lots of time & efforts too.

Therefore, Google must think about some Monetary conditions for Guides.

yes you can earn from local guides, if you are a good contributor and add missing place for those restaurant and hospital.
