Bangladesh was taken birth on 16 December in 1971 after 9 months bloody liberation war in which war 3 million people sacrificed their lives whereas hundred of thousands women were dishonored by the enemies. Since 1972 the people of Bangladesh have been celebrating victory day on 16 December every year in home and abroad.
It is a public holiday in our country. The National Flag has been hoisted atop Government, Semi-government, Autonomous and Private offices. The Building and Establishment have been decorated with colorful lighting.
At the different places of rural and urban areas fair are held where the people of all ages enjoy very much. The Children enjoy different kind of Rides at the fair and park as well as buy the things that they like.
School, College, Club and other Institutions arrange sports competition and cultural program throughout the country. A special prayer are arranged at the mosque, Temple, Church, Pagoda and other religious Institutions.
In a nutshell, we can tell that the whole Nation celebrate the victory day on 16 December every year with paying deep homage to the martyrs who laid their lives for the country during the liberation war.

১৯৭১ সালে ৯ মাস রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের মাধ্যমে আমরা পেয়েছি স্বাধীনতা, এ দিনে বাংলাদেশ সহ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন জায়গায় বাংলাদেশিরা বিভিন্ন অনুষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে এ বিজয় উৎসব পালন করে।

এ দিনে বিভিন্নরকমের অনুষ্ঠান হয়ে থাকে, ছাত্র ছাত্রী রা দিনের প্রথম প্রহরে জাতীয় স্মৃতিসৌধে ফুল দিয়ে শ্রদ্ধা জানায়।
এ রাত্রে প্রতিটি হলে বিজয় দিবস প্রতি ভোজের আয়োজন করা হয়।
